Winter in Chicago is long and miserable - grey is the prevailing color for months at a time. Snow, when it comes, provides a small relief and adds some contrast.

The opportunity to go out for a walk in February is not to be underestimated, and when the temperatures climb high enough to not have to risk frostbite for such a venture, then we jump on that!

 

Our little jaunt to a local forest preserve on February 18 - the depths of Winter - was a welcome 'adventure'.
