Mikey had a great year, with music being the one thing he really pushed forward with.

In March he auditioned for and was given the solo part in Chichester Psalms, being performed by the Deerfield High School choir. He spent some time rehearsing with the choir and then proceeded to perform flawlessly for a significant audience of the community. 

​

Also in March he played a selection of parts from Mozart's 'Magic Flute' for his school's annual SoloFest. Not only did he get a gold medal for his performance, but also got a perfect score and an invitation to play an abbreviated version for the Spring concert involving all of the local schools involved with the music program - about 18 in total. 

 

Along with this he continues to play bells in the bell choir, has performed solo singing parts for church and Lake County Boys Choir.

He continues on his scouting journey as Troop Trainer - training his other troop members on skills and necessary techniques. He completed a Mile Swim at scout Camp Makajawan this Summer and received a special patch for his efforts. This is all in addition to his great academics and running.
