McMurray Family

Ravinia Festival resides in the local lakefront village of Highland Park, and is one of the premier music festivals in the world. Every year it attracts a huge wealth of musical talent in a variety of genres, from around the globe.

Each year the CSO (Chicago Symphony Orchestra) picks 2-3 movies to play the score to while the audience watches the corresponding movies - a simulcast of sorts. For the past 5 years our family has been attending one of their offerings, and this year it was 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.

 

We choose the lawn area over the pavilion seating, and join hundreds of other like-minded Chicagoans and set up blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to enjoy a late-Summer evening watching a great music and listening to amazing music. What a treat!
