While Martin had earned his Skiing merit badge the year before, this was the 1st time Mary and Mikey had been on skis.

 

Grand Geneva Resort in Wisconsin offered a Scout Special Sunday with reduced price ski lesson and rental fees, which made it very affordable. The only date that worked into the schedule turned out to be the same day as the biggest snow storm of the winter! We took it all in stride with AWD, and bonus: it meant fewer people to compete with on the slopes.

 

Mikey took to the whole concept like a duck to water, while Mary was just not quite sure about whether she trusted the sticks on her feet. Mason, alas, was too young so next time...
